BOOK #5 DEUTERONOMY

05_DEUTERONOMY_04

Hebrews 12:29 says that our God is a consuming fire that is a cross reference from Deuteronomy chapter 4 verse 24. Have you ever wondered why God is a consuming fire? His fire comes from his passion and zealousness for righteousness. It is the same fire that came down from heaven and consumed over 100 men in the story of Elijah and the attempt of unrighteous people to capture a holy Godly Man. Let us never lose our passion for righteousness let us never become lackadaisical towards evil. That's why God says she appears as a fearful terrifying judge to the wicked and the unrighteous but his fire is a comfort and warmth of protection for his children keep evil away from us. It says to fear the lord and that means to respect him and his righteousness and no time should we be come any less zealous for good doing and justice. It says to hate evil and cling to what is good. The more we hate evil the more of his fire and passion for righteousness will become part of our lifestyles. Are we passionate about seeing God's righteousness come about on the Earth? Are we passionate about doing what is right in our own lives and abstaining from sinful activity? Oh Lord please give us a fire please give us your consuming fire for righteousness and your passion and zealousness and warmth to love each other over everything else. This fire is also a passion to be with us to pursue us at all costs and to save us from the evil that is in the world.
